ABSTRACT
Economic benefits accruing from the production and export of petroleum are of two kinds: those directly derived by the state, mostly in the form of fiscal revenues, and those derived by the nation, including income accruing to the state as well as to workers, suppliers, contractors, and others. This chapter reviews the role of opec in bargaining for state revenues.
