ABSTRACT
The chapter is the conclusion of the book: it presents sport in rural areas and small towns as a factor in the acculturation of a way of life considered ‘urban’. It also discusses the role of local social actors in this acculturation process and situates its dynamics in time and economic context in Poland and in the sports policy of the Socialist state of the late 1970s and 1980s.
