This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of Halal certification and auditing practices, beginning with an introduction of the significance of Halal certification in the global food industry. It explores the landscape of worldwide Halal certification bodies (HCBs), highlighting their roles in ensuring adherence to Halal standards. The chapter delves into the diverse Halal standards established in different countries and regions, emphasizing the need for harmonization to facilitate international trade. Additionally, it addresses instances of misuse and misrepresentation of Halal certification, underlining the importance of stringent auditing and regulatory oversight to prevent fraud and maintain the integrity of Halal products.
