ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 expands on the author’s personal experience as a Black, undocumented person, providing an extensive account of her journey from Jamaica to America; sharing her experiences as a young person finding out she was undocumented in high school; and describing her college access process and the isolation she navigated as the only Black undocumented student in her high school.
