ABSTRACT

This chapter offers A step-by-step guide to the implementation of the diversity audit that addresses successive phases of the process and identifies key participants in each dimension. It provides a planning matrix to track milestones, time lines, and expected outcomes. The communication strategy would emphasize executive commitment and link the diversity audit to strategic diversity planning goals as well as accreditation process. The communication strategy would establish the leadership for audit process with an emphasis on broad-based collaboration of representative stakeholders from academic and nonacademic areas. During the initial implementation phase, audit leadership such as the steering committee or diversity research team will work collaboratively to plan and oversee the implementation process. The committee can map the sequence for completion of the dimensions and determine estimated time frames using the Audit Planning Matrix.
