ABSTRACT

The superpower of digital leadership is the ability to connect a purpose with platforms to help people. Two associations that have attempted to formalize competencies around technology are Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education and College Student Educators International. Facebook provides a groups feature that allows users to create groups with varying levels of privacy and invite others to join them. Gruzd et al. declared that Twitter was “a good case to understand how people integrate information and communication technologies to form new social connections, collaboration and conversation”. Researchers placed YouTube under the category of social networks early on. In addition, as social media algorithms make it increasingly difficult to see posts chronologically, more and more users are opting in to the simpler interfaces and in-the-moment benefits of the stories feature provided by Instagram and other social media platforms. Similar to YouTube and Instagram, Snapchat has attracted a younger demographic, with its most active users ages 18 to 34 years.
