ABSTRACT

The EHE assessment process begins with the completion of an overview section and then proceeds to the sections focusing on the seven categories. The overview consists of questions designed to construct a general description of the institution, department, or program: its structure, key constituencies, and other characteristics. Category 1 is concerned with leadership approaches and governance systems used to guide the institution, department, or program. Category 2 is the purposes and plans category and focuses on organizational directions, aspirations, and plans. Category 3 focuses on the groups that benefit from or otherwise influence or are influenced by—the programs and services offered by the institution, department, or program being reviewed. Category 7 asks for information and evidence to gauge the effectiveness of the institution, department, or program; to track trends over time; and to document the organization’s standing in comparison with peers and leaders in the field.
