ABSTRACT

ePortfolios are popping up everywhere—at high schools, colleges, and universities—as administrators and educators discover the rich opportunities they provide for promoting and assessing student learning (e.g., Chen, Penny Light, & Ittleson, 2012; Stefani, Mason, & Pegler, 2007). Even governmental entities (e.g., the state of Minnesota) are sponsoring ePortfolio platforms for their citizens (see www.efoliominnesota.com). Through ePortfolios, students have the opportunity to discover and explore their role as a learner, make connections, and more intentionally integrate their learning. ePortfolios are also a plus for administrators and faculty as they provide a more authentic way of evaluating student and program success.
