ABSTRACT

First and perhaps most important, biology deepens teachers' understanding of what learning actually is about. It gives them more light. Learning is seen as a natural outcome of experience, and this gives teachers confidence that their students will always learn. Whatever fits with their life and emotions will be learned. Second, the biology of learning enriches teaching by making educational theory more real. Brain science is slowly giving teachers those reasons. It is giving them the chance to move beyond dependence on authority and authorities. Third, the biology of learning gives teachers better boundaries. It helps them recognize the separateness of teacher and learner. Fourth, examining the biology of learning enriches teachers because it gives them more ideas. Finally, exploring the biology of learning can clarify the values. This subject deserves another book because it is a profound enrichment.
