ABSTRACT

This chapter describes ways of leading to best support the design and implementation of a curricular approach. It discusses the importance of leading as a learner, leading effective cultural and organizational change, mindful leadership, and leadership strategies consistent with fostering student success and learning. Leadership is intended to capture the human capital that is essential for the buy-in, sustainability, and overall impact of the curricular approach. Fostering an organizational culture of learning aligns with the focus of providing learning-enhancing environments for students. In a curricular approach, there is always something to learn from a cycle of continuous improvement, from the literature surrounding the identified learning goals and outcomes, on the pedagogy of learning, and new ideas beyond the field. Leading curricular approaches is not just about student learning; it is about the learning of leaders, educators, and critically conscious professionals too.
