ABSTRACT

Faculty and administrators, what time is it? “Scale Time!” I'm Ron “The Scale Man” Berk. Not Scaly Man, Scale Man. This box brings you a special edition of Scale Time. Today you have a collection of statements and anchors. Tomorrow, who knows? What are you going to do next? All of the pieces need to be assembled into a formal instrument that is self-administering, easy to understand, and simple to complete. Once the tool is in the respondent's hands or on his or her computer screen, it's too late for questions. The respondent should be able to respond thoughtfully to the structured and unstructured items in a whiz. This chapter takes you through the process of completing the scale and then considers the options of paper-based versus online administration.
