ABSTRACT

As I mentioned in the introduction, Training to Imagine does not purport to be a comprehensive compilation of improvisational theater games. There are such texts. The ones I recommend are included at the end of the book. The exercises I have included in this section are those I have found offer the most value to individuals training and working in business settings. In writing the game descriptions, I have assumed that the reader possesses a certain level of facilitation experience. My goal was to provide enough material about each activity, so that the trainer understands the flow and applications of each game. In addition to the general rules, I have included suggested tips and debrief questions. Depending on the focus of the training, different questions will apply. For more general tips on facilitating games and simulations, I recommend Interactive Strategies by Thiagi (2000) or his website, www.thiagi.com.
