ABSTRACT

I think that my practice as a professional was changed by what we were doing…. I think it’s the relational thing … and the organizing lens. You know, I’ll say, “Oh, we need to do a power analysis,” so we will do a power analysis…. When I’m thinking about wanting to make some changes here at this school, I’m going to look at my faculty, I’m going to look at who my people are, I’m going to look at where everybody is and I think about my leverage points … or my tipping points. But I’m going to go about that very much in an organizing way. I’m going to have one-to-one conversations with people; I’m going to try to find out what their interests are. I’m going to try to find out if I can put people together around an interest and I can create something meaningful for them, so they can work forward from that place.
