ABSTRACT

Action inquiry provides a means for designing and evaluating intervention in education systems and practices to promote equity. Engaged scholarship is a strategy that educators, administrators, and students can use in partnerships with researchers to build knowledge and skills to support and inform the change process. We provide guidance and case studies to illustrate straightforward practices for building empowering partnerships. We also provide guidance by explaining how lessons learned from working with communities and schools can inform engaged scholarship on a broad range of projects addressing social injustices.
