ABSTRACT

The subliminal dimension in leadership also matters because leaders are not only influencers, but they are also subject to influence. Subliminal Leadership took scientific evidence from various disciplines such as psychology, medicine, or evolutionary biology to show how humans influence one another consciously and unconsciously, and what it means for effective leadership in and outside of organizational contexts. Science is about regularities in the behavior of nature, as far as they are observable. Social sciences are about the behavior of humans. In contrast to nuclear particles, the behavior of one human over another may differ due to variables such as demographics, culture, character traits, or education. Research on inter-brain connectivity, impressive as it is, could equally only demonstrate that the minds of humans communicate and influence each other subliminally over distances.
