ABSTRACT

Mind, brain, and body are intimately connected and constantly communicating with and affecting each other. The mind can be thought of as the sum total of all mental processes, including thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and memories, while the brain is the physical organ responsible for processing these mental processes. The way we feel influences the way we think and the constitution of our body influences the way we feel and the feelings of others. The brain–mind–body system is an adaptive, self-healing system with an astonishing capacity to compensate for losses.
