ABSTRACT

One of the outcomes of facing crucibles and engaging in critical reflection is wisdom. In this chapter, the PRSA Fellows reflect on what they’ve learned and provide practical advice. Some of the lessons that are top of mind come from their early childhood, demonstrating the vital role of parents, grandparents, and teachers in the development of moral and ethical values. It should be emphasized that these values were modeled by others, which can be even more impactful than instruction alone. One of the Fellows discusses the importance of resilience and how she learned through observing her mother’s example. The Fellows also discuss their role as ethical role models and mentors.
