ABSTRACT
In answer to my question, the kabouter simply looked at me, smiled, and disappeared into a cave that I now noticed for the first time. But he didn't stay away for long. Very soon, he returned with a bottle and two cups. I thought that looked like a good sign. He wasn't ignoring me. I was also happy that he was bringing something to drink. The long hike had made me very thirsty, and my Thermos had been empty for some time. The kabouter must have noticed that I looked somewhat run down.
