Introduction

My students often told me that I should write a book based on the stories I told as I was teaching. Many of these stories came from experiences of learning “the hard way” during my undergraduate and graduate practicum internships in social work and psychology. They offered some vivid and memorable illustrations of the many “mistakes” I made along the way, along with a few “successes”.
