ABSTRACT

Throughout your time as a doctoral candidate, you may give several presentations to your committee where you will discuss your research study. These presentations are an opportunity to share your progress with your committee and to gain feedback. A journey can only be complete by documenting the details of the trip. Likewise, the presentations allow you to document progress. The committee will give you specific suggestions and may challenge you on your topic and research goals. Consider this a time to enhance your research plans and create the most scholarly research study possible. This chapter will provide some basics to remember when presenting research, concepts associated with some of the most critical presentations in the doctoral process, and ideas for slide topics that may be included during each benchmark presentation.
