ABSTRACT

One of the most significant decisions a prospective doctoral candidate can make is the mode of instruction. They must determine whether to take classes on campus or through online centers upon a candidate’s ability to stay organized and committed to the work. Each mode of instruction has its benefits, but not every candidate can flourish without being connected to other learners. Candidates are not locked into one university for their entire degree; however, not all credit transfer policies are the same. Contacting prospective universities to determine how many courses can be transferred can save time and money. The chapter will review the different types of learning modalities of doctoral programs.
