ABSTRACT

The conclusion acknowledges recent developments that have secured Magona’s standing as both an intellectual of high repute and a valuable contributor to academic setting and argues that, her literary production serves the function of theorizing life in South Africa during apartheid, during the transition period, and during the three decades that have passed since independence. It concludes by suggesting the critical importance of her theories which draw upon the wisdom of the nation’s elders (from the recent past and the removed past) and the keen insights stemming from her own powers of observation and understanding.
