ABSTRACT

Values are a fundamental underpinning of all personal relationships. By extension, they are also paramount in an organizational setting. This anecdote-filled principle discusses the origins of values and why they are critical for both individuals and their teams. To this end, discussion points include how to create and customize organizational values, how to live organizational values, how to let values guide your decision-making, and how to hold people accountable for values-driven outcomes. In addition, there is a detailed narrative about how to face challenges when values are being tested, as well as how to handle situations when your personal values may not match those of your organization.
