ABSTRACT

A calm, steady demeanor; keeping your cool when those about you are losing theirs. Coach Wooden was a role model for this type of behavior and approach, even in high-pressure situations. This principle is about taking care of your whole self, avoiding or minimizing the broad fluctuations in our character or actions, by focusing upon how and where you spend your time and energy. Specifically, a study is cited and commented upon that suggests our capacity to work is drawn from our personal management and attention to four different sources: our physical body, emotions, mind, and spirit. Further, tips are provided on how to best manage stress, manage anxiety, mitigate anxiety, and how to be cognizant of the signs for burnout.
