ABSTRACT

A key question at the front of the author's mind, throughout his own journey into the world of healing, has been: “What is healing?”. Most conventional health care professionals tend to equate it with the repair of a wound or fracture, rather than anything more holistic. His colleagues and he wondered what people not involved in health care thought that healing was all about. Four of us took on this project: Drs Sarah Goldingay and Emmylou Rhatz from the University of Exeter, UK, Professor Sara Warber from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, USA, and myself; Emmylou, Sarah and he designed the protocol and conducted data collection, and Sara Warber helped with the analysis of data. There was overlap between these three models. For example, the person who drew a sun radiating energy into life below, allowing it to heal itself.
