ABSTRACT

The author worked full-time at the Medical School in the University of Exeter for 11 years. During that time, he pursued several different research projects on healing. Research of this sort is a “messy” business. It does not go in straight lines but involves the pursuit of many different approaches at once. It is driven by curiosity. Whatever type of research you are undertaking, it is critical to follow good practice guidelines and to make sure that your work is ethical and acceptable to all. He then suggested that he might want to ask the healers in the group some questions to help him with his research. He was, of course, totally unprepared for such a request, but took his time and tried to collect his thoughts.
