ABSTRACT

In Chapter 4 of this book (“Domain #1 – Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts”), we introduced the different approaches, including the Predictive one, that is, a development approach (ref. PMBOK® Guide 7th Edition – section 2.3.3 – “Development approaches”, ref. Agile Practice Guide – section 3.1.1 – “Characteristics of Predictive life cycles”) used within projects, where project planning and execution are based on a pre-defined and detailed plan. This approach relies on the assumption that the project requirements, scope, time, and budget are fixed, and they can be clearly defined upfront, allowing for accurate planning and estimation of resources, timeframes, and costs.
