ABSTRACT

The systems thinking tools were developed and popularized by Dr Eliyahu Goldratt. These tools are basically a series of thinking processes, or, more specifically, logic trees, that can be used individually to solve problems, or they can be used in a defined sequence to conduct a full systems analysis. The Current Reality Tree (CRT) is used to determine organization's current reality at a single point in time. For years, people have used negotiation to resolve conflicts, but the problem with negotiation is that both sides are required to give up something. However, the TT can provide an excellent logical structure for going deeper and being more fractal in a thinking. The Thinking Process tools can be used on a standalone basis and can also be used in a specific sequence to drive a complete systems analysis. As part of every improvement effort, there are “things” that get in the way or interfere with an effort.
