ABSTRACT
I was involved in the Commonwealth Games Pride House in Birmingham in 2022. Pride House provided a safe space for LGBTQ+ athletes and allies and there were lots of workshops and events throughout the games. I did a No Outsiders story/art workshop on a Thursday morning in August. I’ll be honest, no one turned up. I was a little disappointed at the time (I was hoping Tom Daley might appear with his child) but it didn’t really matter, I had a nice morning meeting various people and often with these things you never know what might come in the future as a result of what might seem like a disaster at the time.
