ABSTRACT

“Problem”, “project”, “topic”, “concern”, “challenge” and “question”. All these words are used, often interchangeably, to characterise the set member's issue that they bring to the set. Many of the problems brought by set members may even be derived from previous “solutions”! People may often only have a “fuzzy” and general understanding of the area concerned, while alternatively others may feel restricted by the notion of a “project”. Whatever term is used, it is the vehicle for action learning so must be demanding without being overwhelming; must address an unresolved issue at some level and may even seem intractable, at least at the outset.
