ABSTRACT
With the changes in the mode of production, all the pristine land-based social relations underwent corresponding changes. The process of changes in the mode of production started with the historical decline of the primordial economy and the advent of institutional economy in the hills that replaced the tributary mode by the typical rent-revenue mode of accumulation. But land rent or revenue was insignificant from the hill lands. The forests resources in the hills became the major attraction for revenue generation.
