ABSTRACT

Hudson, OH, is a small suburb of over 22,000, located just northeast of Akron and about 30 miles southeast of Cleveland. Hudson is historically notable for being a stop on the Underground Railroad and the home of John Brown, the abolitionist who led the famous Harpers Ferry raid in 1859. In line with its civil rights past, in June 2021, the city held a series of debates on forming a local alliance for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Several members of the public gave thoughts on the matter, but their comments were interrupted by members of the public on another issue, municipal term limits.
