ABSTRACT

The steadfast progress towards the goal of building China into a cyber superpower since Xi Jinping's clarion call could have varying interpretations and implications extending well beyond China's periphery. The book has examined resources and capabilities arranged in four dimensions – national cyber policy, cyber diplomacy, emerging digital technologies, and military – where China's initiatives are largely concentrated to understand its interpretation of cyber power and its device to accomplish the goal of building China into a cyber superpower. China's treading on the path to cyber superpower should be seen as a composite of the motives and actions across this broad spectrum of state functions.
