ABSTRACT
One question remains before I can retrieve the embodied meanings of professional knower and non-knower alike concealed inside a modern legal discourse. If I succeeded in retrieving such meanings, would the meanings also be associated with violence? If not, why not? Further, if the professional knower were able to retrieve the embodied meanings of both non-knower and knower, would legal discourse remain monologic? Indeed, would one be able to characterize the retrieved meanings as authoritative in the same sense that the authority of the modern state has been associated with an arche or foundation?
