ABSTRACT

I have used the word ‘continuity’ in the title and frequently to this point, without drawing specific attention to it, instead illustrating its importance, through ethnicity, to the politics of South Africa. Neville Alexander did it years ago (2013, Part 2), with specific reference to capitalism, education and language. It is central to my argument, unavoidable since the motivation for this book rests on my intense discomfort with the essentially unquestioned continuities of aspects that were deemed to be at the core of apartheid as a system.
