ABSTRACT

One of the main objectives in grief work for any therapist is to help the client to work towards accepting whatever loss they have experienced. Acceptance is one of the final stages of any journey of grief, no matter what theory or model of grief is being used. The script should be used when the treatment plan is near completion. It can be used to review the progress made on the journey of grief and then to start the work on acceptance by identifying hopes and aspirations. Appendix 31.1 includes questions and is in a format which the hypnotherapist can use to take notes, develop a list of aspirations and later write up as aspirations plan.
