ABSTRACT

Indian ad industry was pegged at over 857 billion Indian rupees in 2022 and is projected to grow to more than a trillion rupees by 2024. 1 Advertising is an aspirational profession, especially for the youth. The fact that over 300 universities and institutions of higher learning in India offer courses in mass communication and many among them in advertising is reflective of the fact that advertising is a popular vocation. Young persons, especially from the cities, are attracted to the profession of advertising for its perceived glamour and creativity.
