ABSTRACT

Environment has a great impact on our learning and more importantly how we look at things. Home is said to be the cradle of civilization. Children often become what they learn from their elders at home. In traditional societies, girls at a young age are made to believe that they are different from their brothers when it comes to their treatment and the choices they can make. Does it really make home the cradle of civilization is a moot point! Girls enter schools and then colleges to find their male batchmates who often carry an air of superiority and behave in a manner that they have learnt in their homes. Come the work environment, it is no different, despite whatever the human resource people may want you to believe about equality, diversity, inclusivity, and safe work environment. There is an imminent need for gender mainstreaming in the media schools from where most professionals are resourced for the ad sector and the workplace itself.
