ABSTRACT

The 3rd Han Tomb at Mawangdui in Changsha, Hunan Province was excavated from November 19 to December 12, 1973. A large number of bamboo slips and silk books were unearthed from the tomb. The bamboo slips included two categories: lists of burial items and medical books. The medical books were sorted and published in 1985, while the lists of burial items were not published until later. In July 2004, the field archaeological excavation report, “Changsha Mawangdui No. 2 and No. 3 Han Tombs”, was published. The book published the photos of the dispatch strategy bamboo slips from No. 3 Tombs with explanations and annotations. This chapter is based on the photos and explanations of the book to conduct word research.
