ABSTRACT

This chapter delves into the five key components forming the foundation of the Codevelopment Action Learning (CAL) approach: the three roles (client, consultant, and facilitator), the learning and growth mindset, the structured, yet flexible seven-step method, and the three guiding principles that foster a safe space in the group (commitment to the group, collaboration and support, respect and discretion).

This chapter also includes an examination in greater detail the fact that the approach is implemented in small groups of five to eight participants, that can be adapted to different circumstances (homogenous or diverse groups, intra or inter-organizations), and that meet regularly over time through their CAL journey.
