ABSTRACT

Elliot Rodger was a troubled young man with a history of psychological and emotional problems (Stump, 2014; Nagourney et al., 2014). On May 23, 2014, he engaged in a shooting spree that claimed the lives of 6 people and injured 14 others. In doing so, he was seeking to strike a blow against a world that he perceived as unfair and tormenting. Rodger left behind videos, writings, and web postings which provided detailed evidence of his thought processes and motivations. All of them reflected his bitterness and hatred towards women, who ignored him, and sexually successful men, whom he envied.
