ABSTRACT
This chapter details the extremist ideology of the manosphere, which holds that extreme patriarchal control of women is necessary for the good of society. This belief rests upon the notion that if women are allowed to choose their own mates, the majority of men will be denied sex and the opportunity to find ideal mating partners, which will have a destabilizing effect on society as a whole. This is because they believe that women are biologically driven to mate with only a small percentage of “alpha” men, leaving the majority of men unable to find suitable partners and causing them to become unproductive or violent. Male control of female sexuality through rigid patriarchy is viewed as necessary for familial and social stability.
