ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the manosphere group known as Men's Rights Advocates (MRAs). It traces the history of the group from its origins among the feminist allied Men's Liberation Movement of the 1970s to its current place among the manosphere and its belief that feminism has encroached upon the rights of men, demonized cultural notions of masculinity, and has placed women in a legally superior position in society. This chapter examines influential Men's Rights figures such as Warren Farrel and Paul Elam, as well as the movement's most legally active group, the National Coalition for Men.
