ABSTRACT
“Taking the red pill” is a metaphor used in the manosphere to refer to the process of learning their ideology and coming to know and understand the true nature of women and their sexual choices. The Red Pill as a group are manosphere denizens who believe they can use this knowledge to dominate and manipulate women so as to make relationships with them more beneficial for men in terms of maximizing sex while minimizing emotional and financial entanglements. This chapter explores the Red Pill's emphasis on relationship power dynamics as well as their belief that Pick-up Artist style “game” provides the techniques they need to master and maintain in order to gain and hold on to that power.
