ABSTRACT
Given its popularity and spread in recent years, it seems clear that the beliefs of the manosphere are appealing to many young men and participation in these groups is fulfilling some need for them. This chapter offers an explanation for this phenomenon as a third wave feminist backlash and aggrieved entitlement. It is appealing to young men who feel the social status formerly assured by virtue of masculine identity has been unfairly withheld from them by a feminist culture that scorns traditional gender roles and vilifies male sexuality.
