ABSTRACT

The operator meets with the program participants before the program. As in the news program, the operator and talent meet before the show, and the operator is given a program rundown and all the recorded inserts in the order they will be used. The newscast format will employ two mikes and their users, a news reporter, and an announcer. A sportscast is essentially a news program with total emphasis on sports news and sports features. The disk jockey program, from the operator’s viewpoint, consists of alternately playing records, commercial carts or cuts on transcription disks, and opening the mike for live lead-ins, introductions, and lead-outs. The panel program is, with the possible exception of a theme, an all-mike program. The telephone talk program can be considered a variation of the panel program, with the panelists in this case being members of the listening audience.
