ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a perspective on the geography of India, including a focus on two cities – Hyderabad and Jaipur. At every turn in our research, we were reminded of the fact that India has features more like many countries rather than one, with very strong regional cultural traditions, multiple languages and strong regional/state governments. No study of the creative industries in India could be complete without a fuller understanding of that geography.
