ABSTRACT

The elegance of sound-making is that, at its core, it is collaborative in nature and inspires students to actively listen to each other. This fundamental aspect helps children understand that what they do matters and affects the class as a whole. They learn and experience that the better listeners we are, the more we are able to communicate with each other, and the more we listen, the more we are able to be heard. This helps us to be kinder and more empathetic with each other, enabling greater personal and social awareness of how to trust, negotiate, and resolve conflicts more easily and more amicably.
