ABSTRACT

In the last three decades, developmental cognitive neuroscience research has clearly established that children who exhibit enhanced EF skills are more school-ready and more likely to enjoy learning, to do better in school, and to go on to finish college, and that EF skills are more effective in predicting a child’s outcomes in school than an intelligence quotient (IQ). Finally, unlike IQ, which we are born with and cannot be changed, EF skills can be developed and enhanced.
