ABSTRACT

Movement cinema language is different from any of the other cinema languages because its principles operate within the other cinema languages. Movement occupies space and takes time, just like all the other cinema languages, except movement can be lengthened or shortened, compressed or expanded. There are rules for cutting movement into the selected cinema language which the director needs to know in order to plan for it. Every director knows that camera movement and subject movement constitute a useful creative tool when operating within the disciplines of the various cinema languages. Movement cinema language is more than just a category; it has its own aesthetic principles. Movement is a powerful tool within the cinema language. The important thing to note is that the rules for the master scene cinema language are the same in movement master scene, except for some of the obvious restrictions.
